Aside from a dress I had to wear for approximately 2 hours at a friend's wedding this past fall, I can't remember the last time I wore an outfit that showed my knees. If it was an occasion where a dress was called for, I either wore a long one, or wore leggings under the dress.
Why? Let's talk about the African plains. If, at my current weight, I were to think about my knees, I'd think more of an elephant than a gazelle. Now, elephants are my favorite animal (aside from my dog Jack), but that doesn't mean I want to look like one.
This week I did something I haven't done in a very long time - I went to the gym seven days in a row. It was a pretty huge accomplishment for me, and I'm going to keep taking it one day at a time, and hopefully reach 14, then 21, then 28, and so on.
A side effect of being a gym rat for a week is that I am starting to see and feel differences in myself. One of those differences is in my knees. I was driving to work a couple days ago and noticed that my knees felt sharper. That sounds incredibly weird, but it's huge! It means that I'm losing fat and gaining muscle. It means that before long, my weight loss will be noticeable and it won't just be me alone in my car feeling my kneecaps in awestruck wonder. Okay, yep, it definitely sounds weird, and, ironically, tomorrow is leg day!
Tomorrow will be seven days on Contrave. A very weird side effect is that my daily Diet Coke tastes sweeter than it used to taste. I did read that Contrave can make food taste sweeter, but it was a definite shock. I can't even finish one, which if you know me very well is a huge deal. I basically bleed Diet Coke.
Other than that, it's been relatively uneventful so far. I feel more motivated every day - my gym sessions have even been in the morning! Getting it out of the way before work makes a huge difference in my energy for the remainder of the day.
Thanks for reading! Not tomorrow, but I hope the following Saturday, I'll be bringing back Soul Cyster Saturday. Look forward to that, and stay tuned!
